From Mobile Today (27/10/2005):
3s plans for a brand new approach to prepay have been shelved at the last minute, according to senior retail sources.
Plans under discussion were thought to include a deal to share call revenue with customers, but the revised deal has been put back until next year.
Senior retailers were expecting to be briefed on 3s plans in early October for a November launch but were told that plans had been put on hold.
Retailers Mobile spoke to said they expected the radical relaunch of prepay, but now expect 3 to retain its current offer with the addition of new low-cost handsets including the F866 (left) from Chinese manufacturer ZTE.
A spokesman for 3 said: We think weve already got the best value prepay offer on the market. There is always a lot of speculation around Christmas plans.
