Good old o2, first they make a balls up of the release of I-mode in that after all the talk theres not a major release of the service, half the mobiles that were to be released on the 01 oct, are not even in stock untill November and now when someone trys to try the service they have a problem with a SIM card.
FFs o2 get a grip!

The phones do look nice and I-Mode does work. it was just the SIM's they had for doing demo's had no credit and there was a delay in putting it on.
Shame really cause i really wanted to see what it was like.

As much as I like the idea of i-mode I think O2 are flogging a dead duck.
i-mode came about from the Japanese network (NTT) not having full internet access in the first place, the network at the time made an effort to make sure the data offering that was available was at least useful, hence the launch of i-mode... always on email, shopping etc. I imagine O2 will make a deal of iMail, which only arose from the fact the Japanese didn't like SMS, which is fair enough, 160 characters for 10p?! Are we all mugs?!? Anyway, that's another topic.
If Voda, Orange, T-Mobile and 3 can make their open/kinda open internet access useful with 3 parties then I can see i-mode falling flat on it's face.
It's quite obvious O2 are well aware of this hence the advertising they're pushing just now, you never saw any of this for the previous WAP offerings, by either O2 or the other networks. In fact, the launch of i-mode only confirms my thoughts of a NTT DoCoMo takeover!!
Gimick, that's all I can say. I'll be happy to be proved wrong, if someone can show me why i-mode is any better than the flowers i can buy, hotels I can book, CDs I can buy and the gadgets from firebox I can purchase via Reporo on my Orange 6680 (https://talk3g.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1602) then I'll fetch my hat for eating.
