From Mobilised (11/09/2005):

Three, Hutchison Telecom’s 3g carrier has introduced new pricing for its broadband data services using either a mobile phone as a modem or with a data card.

However pricing for either access method is the same.

The plans begin at $29 (£12.35) per month for 100MB and go up as high as $129 (£55) a month for 1GB of included usage. Usage over and above that is charged at $0.30 (£0.13) per MB.

Another option is to sign up for a capped subscription for $5 (£2.13) per month. With this option you pay $1 (£0.43) per MB capped for the first 100MB. Usage over 100MB is charged at $1/MB also.

The pay as you use casual rate is $4 (£1.70) per MB.
Of course going outside the 3 coverage areas gets a little more scary as you are roaming onto Telstra's 2G GPRS network and all data is charged at $1.65 (£0.71) per MB.

Exchange Rate: £1 = AUS$ £2.35

That looks quite positive. I mean, it hasn't taken my breath away, but then again that out of bundle £0.13/MB is pretty reasonable. I think Vodafone UK have 1GB of data for £45 now, but that's limited to datacards only. There's no doubt that data tariffs such as these on one of the UK networks would increase interest in consuming data on phones.
