Unlimited is that very brave word to use in marketing! Obviously there will be caps, but I don't doubt that for all intents and purposes the Vodafone student deal gives all the SMS and MMS messages that a typical student would require.

Sounds like an excellent deal! The free Samsung just seals it really, it's a student combo that's right on the button.

Wouldn't it be nice if anyone could get a free handset with unlimited text and picture messages when taking out a contract?

Someone reported that sms usage on voda equalled data usage i.e. 250 sms = 24mb or something like that. If that is correct then this makes an excellent deal.

Mhm, I sincerely doubt that data will be included as, given that the word 'unlimited' is being used, it'd equate to an 'unlimited' amount of data.

I'll endeavour to find out more.

Vodafone have confirmed, very promptly I must say, that the offer applies to standard and long text messages and picture messages in the UK only.

It does not include texts sent when abroad, premium rate texts or data usage (£2.35/mb).

The fair usage policy is described as 'very generous' and any extra charges will only be imposed after a user has been asked to moderate their usage but failed to do so.

Sounds like a decent offer to be sure!

As a very old student ( Hum 46) doing a degree last year off, I may take up this offer, only thing is I cant find any information on there web site about students, any one kind enough to provide a link??

100 a day? That's cool :) They do say also that they will notify you if you persistently go over before they start adding extra charges.

Would have been great if I could get the student deal on the N70 I just ordered.

I got 1000 texts a month on Orange which was awesome but sacrificed that for the N70 on Voda with 250 texts. Shame that.
