When using handsets as a Bluetooth Modem on Orange it is sometimes necessary to add an extra string to the modem initialisation commands on the device doing the dialling.
In Windows XP, this is done by going to the Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options > Modems tab > select the modem from the list, ie 'Bluetooth Modem' or 'Nokia 6680' and click Properties > Advanced tab
in Extra Initialization commands enter: +cgdcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet"
If you flick back to the Modem tab, make sure Maximum Port Speed is set as high as it'll go - no point having any settings lingering that might slow things down.
Similarly, the same string can be used on the Pocket PC version of windows.
On my Nokia 6680 the connection refuses to complete unless I have manually completed the steps above on whatever laptop or computer I'm using.
For reference, the number you need to dial when making a Dial-up Networking connection over your bluetooth modem is *99# with the rest of the details, such as username and password, ignored.
